Simon Property Group To Open 49 Locations

In an effort to generate business, mall giant Simon Property Group is set to open 49 malls and outlet centers, none of which are in the tri-state area.

Locations expected to open in Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee and Indiana. Hoping to open its doors within the first two days of May, some of Simon’s top-performing shopping centers are ready to begin operation.

Simon Property Group will create an enhanced sanitation protocol for its locations. HEPA will be included — the same air filters used on the planes. They will also be offering infrared temperature testing to shoppers.

The local governments have okay’d the decision to move forward, considering the shoppers are forced to maintain their social distance around the shop.

There are no indications that shopping centers and malls are ready to reopen in New York State.
